NMC Community Gardens, Reserve Your Plot!

Gardening provides exercise, fresh air, stress reduction, healthy food and satisfaction. Unfortunately though, a lot of us have little time to garden where we live. Most spend more time at work than do at home, and with busy family lives the thought of adding “weeding the garden” to the never ending to do list is overwhelming.

That is why gardening at work is becoming popular across the country. The University of Colorado, Denver found that 20 minutes a day in the garden leads to better physical and mental health, just 20 minutes!

Healthy Roots is pleased to announce that the Northwestern Medical Center Community Garden will be opening for use on Monday May 21st, 2018.

Ready to spend a few minutes at lunch enjoying the fresh air and getting your hands dirty?  Approximately 14, 4 foot by 8 foot raised beds are available for Northwestern Medical Center employees and community members and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Access to communal gardening tools and watering utensils are available with the reservation of a plot. Interested in renting a raised bed for the season?

Reserve your plot today for just $10 by contacting Johanna Setta, 524-8947 or jsetta@nmcinc.org
